Sensory features: Made from 100% Merlot, this successful vintage of a classic Pomerol from the Moueix stable, has a dark purple colour, aromas of blackberries, blueberries, and a touch of blood orange in the nose. On the palate there is medium weight, a pretty intensity of fruit, freshness and a generous structure. This is a reasonably priced Pomerol with good Merlot expression, well balanced and well made for early to midterm drinking.
Grape variety: 100% Merlot
Estate: This 9 hectare Pomerol property has been owned by the Moueix family since 1953 when it was purchased with Trotanoy. It is very well situated on the famous Pomerol plateau near to Le Gay and Gazin and gained a part of the Providence vineyard when that property was merged with La Fleur Petrus.
Vineyard: It is planted entirely with Merlot vines on gravel above clay. The wines produced here are invariably supple, smooth and creamy "Moueix Pomerol" in style, for relatively early enjoyment. Possibly the best value wine in Pomerol.
