Estate: Created by Henri Martin, Château Gloria is one of the most emblematic estates in the Saint-Julien appellation on Bordeaux's Left Bank. The originality of this estate lies in the strength of its vineyard, meticulously built up by Henri Martin through the acquisition of plots of vines from Grands Crus Classés in 1855.
Vineyard: Château Gloria 2022 is a Saint-Julien wine with 50 hectares of vines. The grape varieties are predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The Henri Martin estates, including Château Gloria, are ISO 140001 and HVE3 certified. Now in its second year of organic conversion, Château Gloria's vineyards are cultivated using organic and bio-control products, as well as biodynamic practices.
Vintage: The mild winter encouraged budburst towards the end of March, followed by relatively rapid development of the vines. While April was marked by frosty spells, May was warm and relatively dry. The vines withstood a dry, scorching summer, producing small grapes with a high concentration of polyphenols.
Winemaking & Ageing: Ageing took place in barrels (40 % were new).
