A rich and elegant Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux red wine
Sensory Features:Deep dark ruby garnet colour with opaque core and purple reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Subtle herbal savouriness, black forest berries, hints of blackberries and liquorice. Juicy, elegant and fresh, tight, ripe tannins, lively acidity, red cherries, lemony finish, good length and great freshness, very animating.
Grape Varieties: 90% Merlot & 10% Cabernet Franc
Estate: Château d'Aiguilhe is now one of the finest vineyards in the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank. In a region marked by the Hundred Years' War, this former fortified farm dating back to the 13th century played a military role. Now entirely devoted to winegrowing, the estate has belonged to the Comtes Von Neipperg vineyards since 1998.
Vineyard:Château d'Aiguilhe 2022 is aCastillon Côtes de Bordeaux wineproduced from a 90-hectare vineyard in the heart of the appellation. The vineyards are located exclusively on clay-limestone and clay-silt soils.
Winemaking & Ageing: Vinification in wooden and concrete vats. Extraction by pneumatic punching down. Vatting for 32 days. Aged on fine lees in barrels (30% new).
