Sensory features: The Dofana is a serious wine, dark and brooding, showing amazing power, concentration and depth. Layered with ripe blackberry, cassis, tar, spices, leather and even some spring floral adding some beautiful freshness to the mix. This boasts a wonderful rich, luscious texture supported by round polished tannins. The finish is phenomenal, coating your mouth with dark fruits that linger on and on.

Bested served: with a big meal, such as steak and other hearty red meats.

Technical notes:

Grape variety: 50% Sangiovese & 50% Petit Verdot.

Vineyards: The grapes were sourced from the Monteaperti vineyards with southern/eastern exposure – 270 metres above sea level. The grapes were hand-harvested.

Ageing: 20 months in barriques and 8 months in bottle before release.

Alcohol content: 14.50%
